PIN FUNCTIONS (SOT-23 Package/DD Package) IN (Pin 1/Pin 8):
Input. Power is supplied to the device
ADJ (Pin 4/Pin 2):
Adjust. This is the input to the error through the IN pin. A bypass capacitor is required on this amplifier. This pin is internally clamped to ±7V. It has a bias pin if the device is more than six inches away from the main current of 4nA which flows into the pin (see curve of ADJ input filter capacitor. In general, the output impedance of Pin Bias Current vs Temperature in the Typical Performance a battery rises with frequency, so it is advisable to include Characteristics). The ADJ pin voltage is 1.22V referenced a bypass capacitor in battery-powered circuits. A bypass to ground, and the output voltage range is 1.22V to 60V. capacitor in the range of 0.1µF to 10µF is sufficient. The
OUT (Pin 5/Pin 1):
Output. The output supplies power to LT3014B is designed to withstand reverse voltages on the load. A minimum output capacitor of 0.47µF is required the IN pin with respect to ground and the OUT pin. In the to prevent oscillations. Larger output capacitors will be case of a reversed input, which can happen if a battery is required for applications with large transient loads to limit plugged in backwards, the LT3014B will act as if there is peak voltage transients. See the Applications Information a diode in series with its input. There will be no reverse section for more information on output capacitance and current flow into the LT3014B and no reverse voltage reverse output characteristics. will appear at the load. The device will protect both itself and the load.
NC (Pin 3/Pins 3, 5, 6, 7):
No Connect. No Connect pins may be floated, tied to IN or tied to GND.
