La familia PIC18-Q83 expande las MCU de 8 bits al combinar una amplia gama de periféricos independientes del núcleo (CIP) con la red de área del controlador (CAN).Estas MCU de costo optimizado contienen CIP que ahorran tiempo en hasta 48 pines con hasta 128 KB de memoria flash. La familia presenta nuevas funciones y periféricos como Universal Timer (UTMR) con capacidad de personalización; Cambio de contexto agregado al ADC de 12 bits con Computación para automatizar el análisis de señales analógicas para la respuesta del sistema en tiempo real. Además, incluye opciones estándar de la industria, escaneo de límites JTAG, verificación de redundancia cíclica (CRC) de 32 bits con escaneo de memoria en el arranque para mayor seguridad del sistema.
