  INTRODUCTION
  Sensing and/or controlling current flow is a fundamental requirement in many electronics systems, and the
  techniques to do so are as diverse as the applications
  themselves. This Application Note compiles solutions to
  current sensing problems and organizes the solutions by
  general application type. These circuits have been culled
  from a variety of Linear Technology documents.
  Circuits Organized by General Application
  Each chapter collects together applications that tend to
  solve a similar general problem, such as high side current sensing, or negative supply sensing. The chapters are titled
  accordingly. In this way, the reader has access to many
  possible solutions to a particular problem in one place.
  It is unlikely that any particular circuit shown will exactly
  meet the requirements for a specific design, but the suggestion of many circuit techniques and devices should
  prove useful. To avoid duplication, circuits relevant to
  multiple chapters may appear in one location.

  Introduction
  The H-bridge power-transistor topology is increasingly
  popular as a means of driving motors and other loads bidirectionally from a single supply potential. In most cases
  there is great benefit in monitoring the current delivered
  to the load and utilizing this information in real-time to
  provide operational feedback to a control system. In most
  new designs, pulse-width-modulation (PWM) techniques
  are used to provide highly efficient variable power-delivery,
  but this places extremely fast voltage transitions at both
  terminals of the load and therefore complicates the instrumentation problem. New high side current sense amplifiers
  from Linear Technology can simplify this problem.
  Measuring Load Current in the H-Bridge
  The classical approach to load monitoring is to place a
  small value sense-resistance in series with the load that
  can develop a measurable voltage drop representing the
  load current (see Figure 1). The difficulty here is that with
  PWM activity, the common mode voltage at the sense
  resistor has nasty voltage transitions that can corrupt the
  sense amplifier operation with high frequency hash. While

  Introduction
  The LTC6103 and LTC6104 are
  versatile, precise high side current
  sense amplifiers with a wide operation
  range. The LTC6103 is a dual current
  sense amplifier, while the LTC6104 is
  a single, bi-directional current sense
  amplifier—it can source or sink an
  output current that is proportional to
  a bi-directional sense voltage.
  Due to the amplifiers’ wide supply
  range (60V), fast speed (1Вµs response
  time), low offset voltage (85ВµV typical),
